Sagging suspension

I have a 02 copper s with koni fsd's and H&R sport springs. The problem is while driving when I hit any type of bump in the road the driver side rear is rubbing and like its bottoming out. Any help on what the problem may be would greatly be appreciated. Running 205/45/17's. Thanks Jgoins

koni fsd's and H&R sport springs
You probaly blew out the shock as they are not recommended for use with lowering springs.

Here is right from their website.

FSD Shocks

KONl`s latest technology accomplishes the task that has eluded most shock makers until now - great handling + excellent ride quality:

  • > Excellent ride quality on all road surfaces
    > Available for most newer cars - more coming
    > Pair with Eibach springs for 1"-1.5" lowering(Excludes Mini)
    > Gold metallic finish shocks
    > Less expensive than electronic systems
    > Lifetime Warranty

Koni yellow sports since you already have the lowering springs.

Since you will be changing models, I would highly suggest you change all four.

always change all 4 at once.
Its not too bad of a DIY job if you have done suspension either.

Got the Koni yellows ordered today. Is this a easy swap. Never done suspension work before, or would I be better off taking it somewhere. Don't mind doing it myself if not to complicated. Any suggestions would help or any directions on how to swap them. Thanks

It is not complicated just time comsuming. You will need a spring compressor and some hand tools. Then you should be able to do it.
This will walk you through it.

Did my first suspension job this weekend, pretty easy. The biggest thing is making sure the strut is in ALL THE WAY and the pinch bolt goes THROUGH the fin on the strut. I missed this and and it was a catastrophe, my car is now undrivable until next week when my new cv boot comes in. Stupid mistake, just don't make it!

Did you check the spring to be sure it didnt come unseated? Have you stood in the boot and bounced the car up and down to test and listen? If you are changing its a good time to replace front strut bearings (with new oem or plates) and possibly some bushings if you want to put some life back in that 02. The front lower control arm bushings have been said to need to be replaced every 50k mi and oh my what a difference new ones make. You might need some tools for the strut end nut, pretty hard to do without strut socket.

Always do try and modify all 4 at once. Its not too bad of a DIY job if you have done revocation either.
