Clanking coilovers

I just installed my ST coilovers today. I think I followed all the instructions correctly, but I didn't torque the nuts/bolts down with any weight on the car (i.e. the car was still jacked up on the jack stands). I also had difficulty tightening down the piston in the shock without it spinning with each turn.

The front end of my car makes a load clanking when going over bumps. When I press on the front end, it makes this noise as well. Do you guys know what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance.

Figured it out, it was the nut on the top of the shock. was able tighten it using a loose socket with an alan wrench stuck down the middle.

That was exactly what I was going to recommend to check. It is a common bolt that is overlooked during install.
