Looking for stock suspension

Bought a 09 Clubman S and the dealership didn't tell me it had coil overs on it. This is my wife's car and she would rather have the stock suspension. Would anybody be interested in a trade of some sort? If not, where would be a good place to look for stock R55 struts and springs.

Thanks in advance

Just raise the ride height on the coilovers. Problem solved.

That is plan B. Anybody know what stock ride height is? Not many Mini Coopers in Montana to measure.

Take some pictures and post an ad in the Market. If you can figure out what brand coilovers, you can probably find a way to trade. You may end up buying the stock struts and springs, install them, and then sell the coil overs. Depending on the age of your car, and the condition of the coil overs, you should be able to cover the cost for the conversion.

Does she not like the ride, or the ride height? Some of the aftermarket shocks are adjustable, and you may be able to soften the ride.

Put a couple of pictures (ride height of the car, picture under the rear of the car showing the shock body. Someone here should be able to identify what you have and give guidance.

I have some stock springs off of a 09 MCS I would be willing to sell. Car had 18k miles when I took them off for an H&R spring swap.

What brand of coils are on it? Most likely, if you just max them out at full height it will ride better than stock..

So what is an easy way to adjust the rears? I cranked up the fronts easily but the rears r a slow painful process

With mine, I have to jack the car up, lay on the ground under it, and try not to burn myself on the one OEM muffler I have left and my rears are a grueling process to raise so I would imagine most are just due to the suspension design.

I'd be interested in taking them off your hands for the stock suspension on my r56.

It should be easier with the car in the air and wheels not supported, that way there is not as much preload on the springs. Don't be afraid of using some spray grease or even WD-40. There is probably road grime in the threads that are making the turn hard.

If the problem is wrench access, then they would be easier to adjust out of the car. If the issue is just how hard the wrench turns, then try the lube and jacking up the car.

I jacked up the car, pulled the wheels and couldn't turn it with a spanner. That to use a punch and a hammer

Not sure if you’re still looking for a stock suspension, but I happen to have one sitting in a box in my garage. I have a 2010 JCW which came with the stock suspension and I replaced it with a JCW aftermarket suspension. It had roughly 3,000 miles on it when it was replaced. I could part with very cheaply as my wife is pressuring me to clean up the garage.
