Suspension Rebuild or Replace Camber Plate - Options to Upgrade?
Rebuild or Replace Camber Plate - Options to Upgrade?
For nearly a year now I have been running Bilstein PSS10's using SPC/Eibach Camber Plates and all have been great until recently a knocking noise getting louder and louder.
Seems to be the left hand side Camber Plate so thinking the bearing has had it.
Been told by a supplier of Ruff taiwanese plates that the Eibach ones ar e a bit looser at the bearing to stop piston movement twisting springs as the twisting would occur via whatever moves most and the pillowball is better for the spring to turn in.
Anyway this is all over my head so I either get the plates removed on my daily driver whilst they are checked and new bearings fitted if possible (which may have to be ordered depending on size availability) or I replace and get new.
If changing for new would I also be able to change the Progressive springs on my PSS10's to linear? Maybe a good idea and to go with something like Swift Springs?
Or I could replace with the Promini camber plates which are on sale at less than $150.
Or is it better to just get better bearings put in the SPC/Eibachs???
Just don't want car to be undriveable for a long period so new replacements could be fitted when I can get booked in at my local alignment specialist.
And if the shocks are good and linear springs more of an upgrade would now be the time to improve me existing suspension set up???
Also running Hotchkis rear control arm and competiotion sway bar.
