Suspension Alignment
Alignment
Installed Powerflex control arm bushings on R53 last month & Ireland Engineering fixed camber plates today. Just put new tires on the back and moved run flats to front, 40% tread left. Could I hold off on alignment until installation of remaining two new tires? The car has a slight pull to the right. And with no MINI shop in the area I was wondering about where to take it for alignment. Just a reputable tire shop? Should I align all four wheels or just the front?
Drive-ablity and tire life are what will suffer. If it drives OK and you don't care about the old front tires, you can just wait. Mini doesn't make an alignment machine, so anyone can own the type they use. Going to a reputable shop will get it right. The plates will make it impossible to get to factory spec so you should tell them about the IE plates. Since I knew I was going to need more alignments, I paid for the lifetime service which was just a bit less than double the single price, but I already had it done twice and will need another soon so you might want to ask depending on work you have planned (or know you will need)
