Suspension Checklist and Questions

Hey all! Winter is nearly over, and I will be upgrading my suspension.

So far, I have (or have ordered):

ST Coilovers
5mm H&R Spacers (and matching longer bolts)
H-Sport Rear Lower Control Arms
16x7 et40 Feathers

I'm considering camber plates for the front as well. What's an affordable option? I was looking at the IE Fixed plates awhile back, but as I understand it, that is for stock springs? Am I missing anything key so far? I already have a 19MM rear sway bar. The car has 50,000KM (~31,000 Miles)

My second question is, if anyone knows, how low can I go without scraping your average speed bump? The lowering on the ST's for my R50 is 0.8-2.2" (I believe) and I'd like to tell my mechanic where to set them.

This is an exciting and expensive spring for my car. I'm putting in a 10" sub and an amp in March too.

Danny, I know that this is a little after your post, butfrom skulking around on here it appears that the ST coils are trapezoidal and therefore use the stock upper spring perches. I could be wrong (and if I am, I hope that the NAM hive mind will correct me) but if the stock perches are reused, I can't think of any reason why the IE fixed plates cannot be used.

PS - I too live in Vic and am curious about the ST's - when are you doing the install? - and could I pick your brain sometime about how you like them?

Thanks

Eric

Hey, thanks for the reply! I ended up not getting the plates, just because my budget is stretched to it's limit at the moment for car toys, but if I can get a firm answer on that I may add them in the future.

I was planning on having the installed this coming Monday, but unfortunately there is a bit of a delay on the spacers, so it will probably be another week or two. Once it's all done, I'm happy to answer any questions you've got about them. We can take it out for a spin if you want to see how they ride. For what it's worth I got a good price from the suspension source and I was really impressed with the customer service I got from them. I hope the product performs as well!

I think that I will definitely have to take you up on the ride when you get it finished. If you don't mind pm' ing me.

I am going to start a new thread to clarify about the ie plates and coilovers b/c I would rather not replace the plates that I have just put on.
