Vmaxx coilovers...need help!!

I am ordering a set of Vmaxx coilovers and two sets of wheel spacers for my 2004 mcs mc40. The spacers are 16mm in the front and 20mm in the back, as of right now the suspension is all stock, is there anything else I need to make the coils sit right and not rub? Thanks in advance.

I have also been looking at the Megan racing coilovers, does anyone that has these have any issues? And are they any better than the vamxx?

Not sure about spacers, etc (but I don't THINK you'd need anything else.)

However, I've read in various threads that the VMAXX ride pretty bad. It's a "you get what you pay for" kind of product. Megans are supposed to be better.

I went with ST coilovers from TheSuspensionSource. I haven't installed them yet so I can't say about the ride, but there are threads here on them. I know WayMotorWorks sells both vmaxx and megan and I'm pretty sure I've seen him recommend Megans over the Vmaxx. I'd get in touch with TSS or WMW and they can help you pick what suits your needs.

Good luck!

Thanks, you guys helped alot, I'm still gonna think about it for a while but I'm leaning toward the STs but the good part about the megans is they come with adjustable front camber plates.

For what you get with the Megan Coilovers, and their quality, I would go that route. I have their rear camber bars and they are over built and well worth the add to what you are getting, that way you can adjust the camber front and rear.

no!!! you need lower rear control arm!!!!!
if your lowering it more than 3/4 inch you need them to be able to properly adjust the rear camber..

If you want slammed you need them. You will also more than likely need some sort of camber adjustment up front too.

I am slammed on vmaxx (2" off the ground, 1 mm of wheel gap) and they are all good except noises, which I think is from improper install. They do rub a little but since we have plastic fenders, it will burn off whatever it is rubbing, which doesn't harm tires nor affect the look of the arches. The vmaxx ride like butter on the highway and about like my H&R springs in city. 16mm spacers all 4 wheels = perfect.

So you think they are installed wrong ey? Funny to see you make that comment. I told you they were going to be noisy as you are slammed, not to mention its stupid cold out side and a daily driver.

They are installed no different than any other coil over I have installed with no complaints from any local customers. I will look at it this weekend.

20mm spacers in the rear might cause rubbing on the outside depending on your wheel and tire size. You might want to think about putting the 20mm on front and 16mm on rear.
