i am about to repair my mushrooming as my minis first repair / upgrade.

http://www.waymotorworks.com/megan-r...coilovers.html

i decided to get these coilovers, as with the thick plate they will prevent mushrooming, included with M7 bracebar ontop. mushrooming should become impossible.

they are low cost @ $850 set, (compared to other coilovers) and include a camber adjustment plate. i see it as killing 3 birds with one stone.

but , i am far from any expert. this is just stuff i picked up as i was looking for ways to fix mushrooming. now let the experts answer.

Not in my case.

171,000 miles and eight years of autocrossing up here in New England.

No problems.

Cheers,

Charlie

Stiffer stuff makes for more pounding on potholed streets and will make more mushrooming. But if you install camber plates under the sheet metal along with your lowered suspension, they will support better than stock and the mushrooms will not come.

Look into ST coilovers. They are one of the few affordable coilover kits that come with a 5 year warranty and the same design as the KW V1. Unlike the KW V1 stainless body it has a galvanized body.

+1 On adding camber plates to your setup. The extra plate will add support while also giving you adjustability.

I run Hotchkis plates and have seen no sign of mushrooming. Hotchkis even claims their plates will prevent it.
