Will they rub?

I have AP coilovers, set pretty low. Currently running ZCW Angel wheels which are 7.5j et38 18" with 215/35/18. The tyre is around 5mm from the suspension strut (well, at least the adjuster ring to adjust the ride height).

Getting new wheels which are 8j wide, 17" and et35. i THINK the tyre size is 205/45/17. Meaning 3mm less clearance inside and 9mm more poke outside.

however they are 1" smaller so hoping that will make a difference, as i dont think a 3mm shim is an option as the offset would then be 32. just after your opinions really, picking them up tomorrow so will test fit them then but just wanted a bit of a heads up really.

an offset in the low 30's should be fine. I just test fit 17x8 et30 and everything looked good. I do have a bit of camber helping out though.

If you do start rubbing watch your outside edge of your tires carefully
There is a sharp metal edge to the inside of the plastic wheel arch which is the true wheel well's edge and on bumps or depressions on the road
Will start cutting the tire. The sharp edge sits under the felt son you won't feel it untill it the felt is rubbed out. I have 18x8 with 15 mm spacers in the rear and it's cutting my tire I will have to change the spacers out. Or roll the edges if possible

Do you have any h&r spacers on those they look flush almost poking past or outside the arch?
