Suspension MINI Madness Rear sway & B&M SShift Install
#1
Hey all- Installed my Madness Rear Sway bar & B&M short shift this past weekend- what a good time. The car feels amazing now- short clean, crisp shifts and cornering has never been better.
Both installs took about 4 hours in total from start to clean-up. The sway bar was definitley the easier of the two. But the Shifter install is definitley doable with a little patience and a second set of hands.
I have a write up with pics on my MINI site for any who are interested.

Also thanks to everyone who has posted How To's for these projects- I think I probably used them all at some point.

I just recieved my H-sport springs, H-sport rear bar and B&M shifter. I plan on installing them soon, too. I have very minimal mechanic experience, but I do want to tackle it myself. Instructions seems comprehensive enough. Hope nothing goes wrong. How was your experience with the install?

The installs were great- just take your time- and that main thing to remember is that no-matter what the instructions say for the B&M do not attempt to remove the pivot/retainer ring with the shift assembly still in the car. Remove the entire assembly (it drops out the bottom of the car) and then carefully go to work on removing the ring. That is really the only rough spot of the B&M install.
Aside from that- the sway bar was relatively easy- just a few bolts. Make sure you have a torque wrench handy to tighten it all back up- not worth risking it coming apart.
Let me know if you have any other questions- I'm happy to help.
