R56 IE Fixed Camber Plate Install Issue

I just had a shop install the plates and align the car. The box they came in did not have instructions in it. Several thin washers were included. The tech did not see any reason to use them, so he did not.

Should he have and if so, what is the purpose of them?

Thanks,

You probably used MS word to type the note and pasted it here. So the xml tags are displayed.

Do you have a pic of the washers? What size are they?

Not sure what they can be for the fixed camber plate. I have their adjustables and the washers are for the adjustment bolts.

Are they the 6 washers to be used with the (3 per side) locator studs that come through the strut tower? You should probably use those, luckily that's something you can do in about 5 minutes yourself without putting the car up.

Jeff Ireland emailed me and indicated the washers were just to go under the supplied nuts. We used the OEM style nuts, so we did not use the supplied washers. I thought they might be for some sort of required shimming, but I guess not.

Yup, that's what I meant. You're good then.

FYI -- I was told by a vendor that IE doesn't include installation directions because their lawyers advised them not to. Insane. I'd think there's more liability by NOT giving instructions, but I guess that's why I'm not a lawyer.
