Camber & toe both can wear tires, but in different ways. The camber is going to effect the inside edge of the tire if you have too much negative. Too much toe is going to cause the tires to feather.

My MINI is a daily driver & I'm running fixed IE plates in front with -1.8 & -1.9. My front tire wear is better than it was before.

On the rear I'm at -1.5 & -1.5. I am wearing the inside of the tires more than I like. My next mod will be a set of adjustable H-Sport arms from Outmotoring http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...trol_arms.html

I'd like to take some rear camber out & ideally run -1 degree in the rear.

Edit... You will need to have an alignment done when adding camber to your MINI. Adding it will cause the steering to go Toe In....

It appears you guys know a bit about setting up a Mini, so I'll ask a few questions here. First off, my car is an '06 cabriolet with every possible JCW option including the front strut brace. What I'm not sure about is whether it has the JCW suspension. I have a printout from the BMW Kinematics Diagnosis System from the original dealer in Utah who set the car up before delivering it to the original owner. Under vehicle notes it says:

"Mini : CooperS (2002- ) : R53 Coupe with John Cooper Works Suspension : 18" Wheel " 12/2004- (with Adjustable Rear Camber) (Modified Specification)"

So, I'm wondering what I've got, exactly, suspension wise.

Also, the suspension is set up as follows:

Rear Camber: -57' and -56' (not quite -1 degree on both sides)
Rear Toe: 07' and 08' (close to zero)

Front Camber: -31' and -17'
Front Toe: 08 and 08 for a total of 16 minutes or roughly 1/4 of a degree total.

I drive the car fairly hard in day to day driving but have never taken it to the track. What do you think of my current settings? And is it possible I have the JCW suspension even though I heard that it couldn't be installed on the cabriolets?

Oh, and my springs tested: Fronts at 690 and rears at 574.

Thanks much!

What color are your springs? JCW springs are red.
From what I recall the shock also states JCW somewhere on the sticker.

Thanks. I'll have to check. I believe the springs are black, though.

I know the conversation is on rear but fronts were also mentioned. So I need to get new tires but noticed my two fronts are wearing on the inside.

Suspension: Stock
Factory LSD
Wheels: Stock 16"s
Power flex control arm bushings were replaced this year.
No mushrooming

I had a 4 wheel alignment last Dec and once more after installing the bushings.
According to alignment report:

Front left is Camber is -0.5
Toe is .13
Front right Camber is -1.0
Toe is .15

According to report stock range is:
Camber -1.0 -0.2
Toe .11 .19 degrees

Does this seem right?

Considering how the first one looks I'd say your wear is pretty good. But that does look a bit feathered. How does the outer block of each tire look? It might be a low pressure thing.
