Suspension advice on 2003 msc spring install in progress
i'm following randy's spring install how to.
i'm at the point of trying to rotate the front passenger control arm down far enough to get the strut out, but it won't go down far enough. i need at least 2 more inches to get the strut out.
randy's method doesn't call for compressing the spring on the car. if i did this, it looks like i'd have to fully compress the spring to get enough clearance. that doesn't seem right.
has anybody done this on a 2003 or later mcs and can give advice?
thanks,

you have to compress the springs! especially on the drivers side since the strut is longer for some crazy reason! you should use the ratchet type tie straps. they are thinner than normal spring compressors and are very easy to work with.

well, i tried using 2 ratchet straps but couldn't get enough compression before the pawls locked up. i ended up having to cut them off. i guess i'll try a suicide type compressor (i have a scissors type for off car use.)
anybody know exactly what make and model will fit?
thanks again,
