Suspension After installing lowering springs how far should the strut post extend past top nut?

After installing lowering springs how far should the strut post extend past top nut?

Title says it all. I used an impact wrench to secure the nut and couldnt get the post to go beyond flush with the top of the nut. Just curious if that is enough.

It should be 4 ~ 5 threads above the nut... Also, you should grab a torque wrench and make sure they're torqued right. I think it's 22 ft lbs.
