Suspension Struts
Struts
Hi-
I think I need struts. My 2006 MCS is leaking from the rear passenger side strut.
I was looking online for parts. I found a Munroe shock replacement, for a reasonable price. (< $100) The problem is that another parts place does not list the same part as a replacement for the 2006 model year. Is there some change for the 2006 model year as it relates to struts?
I would also like to hear from anyone who has replaced the rear struts on a 2006 MCS. What did you replace with? Were you happy with the result?
Thanks!

There are several choices. It kinda depends on what springs your gonna use. The JCW shocks are very good. There is also the Koni FSD's, and Koni Yellows. Both very good too, the Yellowes are stiffer though. There is also the bilsteins. We carry them all, just don't have them on the website yet.
There was a change in the early cars (~2003) but I think the struts remained the same after that. I think the consensus is that the best replacement struts are the Koni yellows. I love mine, but they are pricey. It is nice to be able to crank them up hard for a track day, then back them off for the daily commute. Seems that some like the Koni FSDs, but I have talked to a couple of people who tried them and found them too soft.
Hope that helps.
