Opinion-bump stops

I order a set of hr sport springs for my cooper s r56 on stock suspension.Before i install them i like to ask you for opinion?Should i cut the bumb stops or not.How much to cut them?Did someone do that,how it is?

when I called Eibach they said to not touch the bump stops with their springs

I ask them,also told me not to cut.but there some logic to cut because you put the 35mm lower spring than the standart,and when you drive more aggressively in some tight turns the spring will touch the bump stops and it wont working.if you cut them it will have more space for working.

NM Engineering recommends cutting the bump stops for use with their lowering springs. Cut about 1/3 the stock length.

It could be that cutting the bump stops would allow the piston in the shock to compress too far and "bottom out". This could damage the shock.

That being said, I conservatively cut about 1/2" off of mine and everything is fine 4,000mi later.

I will cut them about 30-35mm,to be same with spring.

wheb i put my koni's and h&r springs on i cut them a 1/2 inch. some time sooner then latter i will be replacing the bump stop with polyurthan(spell) stops. they will cushen better when the sturt is compressed over the stock metera. plus if they get compress in a coner the will incress the spring rate as will. befor you guys go off they have use poly. i off road shock for yearsin the same fassion
