Coilover/lower control arm bushing install

Would installing my control arm bushings be easier with the shocks/struts out? i ordered a set of coilovers that should be here by the end of the week, and i already have the prepressed control arms. I can wait to install my bushings if it will make it easier. However, if its not going to make a difference, i can install them tomorrow.

So what should i do?

Wait and do them at the same time

Just do them whenever, they don't really make it easier or harder

They are different jobs. The only common item is removing the wheels.

i see that now, after lowering the sub frame and being RIGHT there, i understand that they have nothing do with each other! i was thinking there might be more room, but not really.

Still mad though, i had the sub frame lowered about 5 inches and got all the way to the sway bar bolts, when i found out i didnt have a 18mm crescent/socket or anything... so bolted it all back up, and gonna do it tonight!

Might I ask how long it takes you and do you do it on your back or a lift? I am amassing the parts now for a spring install.

Thanks,

Rich

How long it takes to do what?

Jack it up? Like 3 minutes lol. I dont have a lift but I have jack stands so thats what I use.

If you're talking about a coilover set (or springs since its basically the same amount of work), I could probably knock it out in about 4 or 5 hours if Im using hand tools. Faster with air tools and if everything works like it's supposed to (which never happens)

Replacing the bushings with the shocks out won't make it any easier. The biggest thing that would overlap with doing the bushings would be installing an Hsport front swaybar.
