Suspension R56 rear trail arms on R53
R56 rear trail arms on R53
Since i just got a new r56 jcw rear brake kit, i was thinking to replace my rear trail arms with the r56 ones. This way i will loose some weight and i will be able to mount my new brake kit without modifications.
I know people have already done it.
My only concer is if i will face any problem with the suspension. Will it mount on the r56 trailing arm or is there any difference?? I have bilstein pss9 coilovers on my mini.. Si will it be ok??
Please give me any info-help if you can. Thanks

To mount your coilovers you'll need these shock bushings.

As for the brakes and such you should be able to mount pretty easy.

thanks both.. you see i am checking on using spare used rear trail arms.. i do not think i will spend that much! think it would not be good value for money for what i will get on handling! .. so i just need to change the shock bushings and i am ok right?
.. i have one more question.. since i have bilstein pss9 on my car.. won't it behave differently and feel more harsh with lighter rear traling arms? since the suspension is designed for heavier trailing arms..???
