the stock struts and the sport struts are awful. getting rid of those is crucial IMO.

Andyroo, I must admit to not knowing much about suspension modification and tuning but I have to agree with you. A few days ago I took a ride in a R56 that had recently been equipped with coil-overs and the ride was beyond impressive. Maybe you can answer my question which is "What is wrong with the stock components/system?"

Poor quality and not enough compression damping (or too much rebound damping) IMO. That's what lets the wheel "hop" a bit when hitting a bump while cornering. I had a rear strut leak all the fluid out at less than 30k miles. That's pretty sad, especially considering that we have pretty good roads here. I'm much happier with the Bilstein HD's I replaced the rear struts with. My fronts are still stock for now. I have the standard MCS suspension expept for the rear struts and a 19mm rear anti-sway bar.

^ that sums it up nicely. Just bad valving in both the low and high piston speed areas. I think they were going for the firm "feel" more than they we were going for good handling. They aren't necessarily the same.

Noob question! I'm planing on buying these springs.. do I need anything else? I don't track the car and it is my daily driver.. do I need a Tie-Bar, sway bar or rear control arms?
