Coilover options for R55

I see many posts on MCS options, but I'm not seeing any chatter on coilovers for the Clubman. Due to the additional weight, I'm assuming that a different spring/valving setup would be necessary for the R55. Anyone done it? Feedback?

Perhaps the settings need to be different but there is only ~150lb difference between the two models. I don't notice much difference when i have a passenger.

R56 coils work fine on the R55.

can someone help save me some research time and give a very quick list of the top options for coilovers? I am looking into TSW springs for an 09 Clubman S. They might be the right call for me... I'm not looking for a harsh ride. Just something that can suck up the road a bit better, and increase handling. I know there are probably a lot of opinions on this, but I assume there are a consensus top 3 or 4 brands/types of coilovers. Any thoughts?

I have the BC coilovers installed on my 08 clubman and do not have any issues. I have the standard springs of 8/6 that come with the BR's. The car handles fine and lowered nicely. I had them installed by Coast to Coast and they did a great job.

If you want some of the best and don't mind spending a couple thousand, get the Cross coilovers.

The TSW Springs and Megan Coilovers will both work on an R55. Please PM or email me for more details. Dustin

If you're just looking for comfort, you should skip the uber expensive coilovers. They tend to be a rougher ride, even at their softest setting. I believe Stratosphere's VMAXX and the KV1's(?) are one of the more comfortable coilovers. I have the M7 and you will definitely notice a harsher ride. Even at their softest, they will only be as comfortable as Mini's sport suspension-which isn't very comfortable. :P

If you plan to just go with springs, TSW makes some really comfortable springs that play well with the stock struts. Only problem is, they BARELY drop the R56/R55. So if you're doing this for looks as well, you probably would want to look elsewhere. :/

Love my TSWs, and no they don't drop the car enough but its fine. Whatever you do, springs or coil overs, make SURE to get camber plates. They really transform the car.

KW V1 would be at the top on my list for lowering the car while trying to maintain the most ride comfort.
