Hi about ASB,,,,

Hi guys, I'm new to here. (already posted one in performance section)

I searched and figured it out the first mod I should do for suspension is sway bar. I'm now considering 22mm alta($209.99) and mini-madness 22mm sway bar($199.00). I can simply ignore $10 difference so I need you adivce on those. Is there anyone who tried BOTH? If they're same in gain, I'll go with mini-madness one because it's cheaper. lol.

And I see many people choose the 'middle' hole among three so I will. But I wanna know and understand why before I do. Thank you !!

* terryD - Oh I see you here also. nice to see you and thx for your replies on my other post

Read this thread and look around for others on the sway bar and camber issues. There are many opinions on this. A 22, in the middle is a very radical change to the stock Mini setup. If you go this route, consider starting with the soft setting. Even this is a radical change.

Since this will be your first suspension mod I would suggest that a 22mm bar will be way too agressive to add to a stock suspension. Check out posts comparing 19mm and 22mm sway bars on NAM for more info. I have a 19mm Alta set at middle adjustment on an otherwise stock MCS. Neutralizes understeer very well at that setting. A 22mm bar at its lightest setting would be too much for my liking and better suited for lowerd MINIs with coilovers, etc. The Alta bar was easy to install, thanks to more information found on this site! NAM rocks. I did mine myself in just over two hours. Makes it even more gratifying when I carve through the curves! Good luck.

umm,,,,

terryD - I just ordered 22mm sway bar from mini-madness. As you advised, I will try the softest setup first instead going mid first.

paleo - Oh well, I already ordered before reading your reply. I had 18mm sway bar already therefore I wanted 22 rather than 19. I thought 1mm wouldn't be noticeable. Maybe I was wrong. Anyway, I'll try the softest and see if I can handle it or not. Thx.

What about that 20mm whiteline bar? I haven't heard many who use it, but the few who do say it rocks. Besides, it overlaps the 19mm and the 22mm. Might be the best size for non-radical MINIs.

I use it, and have done so for over 3 years. It indeed does rock...:D

My "advice" was to do some research.
