Anyone know if the Konis that are on the 06 cars (being used for 07/08) cars will work with the 09? I assume there weren't any suspension changes in 09 but figure I'd throw it out there. I thought I read you have to modify the 06 shock to fit in an 07/08 as well?

 

Supposedly, you need a washer for rear shocks to fit Konis for R53 (06) on R56. I'm not 100% sure for the front shocks.

But Koni is coming out with Koni Sports (yellows) for R56, the new part numbers are already in their catalog.

8741-1512 front
8241-1252 rear

From what I read here, they are supposed to come out this winter.. I don't see them in any vendors yet. I just hope they are out before next spring, along with Schroth quick fit harness, although one for R53 works with some tweaking.

 

Thanks, I know about the Helix washers. I'm buying a set of R53 Konis that were modified to fit on an 07. Just wanted to make sure there were no suspension changes between 07 and 09.

 

R53 needs to be modified futher to fit R56 besides the washers for the rear?

I really hope Koni Sports come out as scheduled for R56 by winter.. I want them next year for autoX.
