has anybody put on the gtspec under strut brace and if they have how is it . the price is right for a easy mod. and i could buy the upper and lower at the same time for the price of just one of the others. i think i read on here that it helps on rough road surfaces. which i drive on alot. if anybody has one on please tell us your thoughts. hopefully its on a r56s.

oh call me what you will...i understand camber but have no desire to adjust it. if i put this brace on what happens? does it just hold whatever it is now...a "factory set up"

am i dumb wanting it "stock" (you won't offend me :-) )

lastly. FYI> i contacted k&n about their typhoon as that's my planned cai and they said this is the only strut brace that will fit with their box.

Hi dunphylj,

I, too, have this strut bar along with the DDM ram air but with the DDM street intake.

I have issues with the strut bar rubbing on the ram air unit and have glued rubber pieces to the bar to keep it from rubbing/rattling on the ram air.

Does yours rub or rattle?

That's not good to hear. I have a GTSpec strut bar on order for my Clubman S and I have the DDMWorks RIS. I have been assured by GTSpec that it doss not rub on the intake or the hood scoop.

To bad the bottom brace only fits the stock exhaust? From the photo on their site it looks like just the DP? pic

yeha... it doesn't fit aftermarket downpipes....

but TSW's x-brace does... it's just a bit more money compared to GTSPEC's

Just received my GTPSEC front strut bar got it mounted and it does rub on the DDMWorks hood scoop and the metal section going from the stock intake tube to the elbow. The rubbing is small but it will leave marks on the bar and scoop.

That looks really nice. I am going to get this one and the underbody brace together. When I did that to my old car man it mad a huge difference. I also plan on getting a rear bar too. Thanx for the link to that company.

Installed the GT strut bar today - no problems (my locating pins are removed and the psuedo-camber adjustment made).

Its a suspension mod that will help in reducing body roll in the car. Now it won't be a huge noticeable difference until you start adding more suspension parts. It is worth plus its a pretty inexpensive mod to do and is easy. BTW link to where you bought it from?

Ron-S Mini,

What are the GT Spec strut bar ends that bolt on to the towers made of? Aluminium? or Steel? Is the bar heavy?

Also your bar itself looks quite different from the one in the first post. It looks flat versus oval? Does that make a difference?

Sorry to take so long to respond... I just realized ur post... I had rubbing in 3 places actually, one on the underside of the bar from the inlethose, and two on top from the ramair's two bottom bolts... I fixed that by just removing the bolts and that seemed to fix that part... Now I'm actually running an NM engineering bar,

Looks like Ron may have flipped the bar... Cuz the top is ovalish and the bottom flat... Not to mention the GTSPEC badge isn't on it so the flipped bar is my guess

You may be right. I guess they work either way.

The end plates are 3/16" steel, not real heavy like M7 or Craven.

The cross bar is aluminum and looks different because I inverted the bar on my install (I do not like advertising on my car).

The whole assembly is very light (under 6 lbs).
