I've had my coilovers fitted for about 3 months now, had a Hunter Infra-Red 4-wheel alignment done soon after, but I still have vibrations

Most vibrations seem to eminate from the passenger side (US driver side) and was wondering if anyone has suffered/is suffering the same. I'm going to have some rear control arms fitted in the next week or so to reign in the rear camber.

I've done a search and I'm hoping that it's not the angle of the axle that is causing the vibrations as I don't want to have to raise the car The car isn't slammed with only a little tuck at the rear.

Any help is appreciated.

 

Depending how far it's been lowered, it may be the axles. One thing you can try is go back to the shop and have them put the car in the air on a 4 post lift. Then, drive the car in the air and have someone check the front end to see where the vibration is coming from. If you have a lot of drop, bet ya it's coming from that inboard CV joint....

 

This is a common problem with the Mini. Do a search and you'll find several threads talking about this. I lowered with the Alta H&R's and had the same problem. I talked to some guys over in Germany that are having the same problem and they developed a spacer that helps some, not all, of the Mini's. I'll be going back to TSW springs next week do to this problem. The only way I know to fix it is to raise the Mini back up. The weird thing is that not all Mini's are having the problem, but it seems to be coming from the CV joints.

Would the axle problem lead to the steering wheel wobbling ever so slightly? It's just the most annoying feeling and makes me drive very conservatively

 

A left to right wobble is usually a wheel balance. The vibration you are feeling from the lowering should be different from the wobble.
