If you drive around turns, you will LOVE the Star Specs. Stickiest summer street tire I've ever tried.

just 3 turns ...I do not NOT suggest ....
Maybe it is the wheels ...
The stock lug bolt (I measured an '03 and a '05) is 30 mm from taper tp end.

If you only have 3 turns look at studs or longer nuts.
Mini Mania has a 35 mm Lug Bolt for under $3 each

you shouldn't need tire insurance either. they will pro-rate the tire, but it still beats full price of a new ones.

info for next time?
Re: tire insurance

I have a cabrio, so runflats are the rule. Buying tire insurance was the best thing I could have done, at least for these original tires, as I have already damaged 3 of them (mostly from potholes; NJ and NY is full of them) in only 2 years of driving (2 had sidewall bulges and the third picked up a screw), so I basically spent on the tire insurance half of what the 3 runflat replacements cost. I think when the tire insurance lapses though and I wear down the runflats, I'm dumping them, even if it means carrying a spare in the back seat. To me the runflats are very unforgiving (in terms of the ride and are easily damaged, as a result) and the cost much more too.

You don't need a spare, just carry a plug kit, pliers and a small pump. You should probably carry a plug kit now anyways. Although you can make it home with the runflats, one of my flats, went completely flat and the <10 mile drive home nearly wore it bald, I should have just put a plug in it right away.

Damn! I drove like 70 miles on the one that picked up the screw and went flat and it still had plenty of tread. Of course, it probably had only 5,000 miles of wear on it before the screw,
