Suspension Tire Size Question
Tire Size Question
I seached the forum and didn't find what I was looking for, so here it is.
I have a MCS with S-Lite wheels, not lowered and I have 205/45/17 run flats on the car. I was looking at getting something like something like 215/40/17 or maybe 225/35/17. At what size would the tires start rubbing? If I go with either size that I'm looking at will the 215 or 225 rub? If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to chim in.
Thanks

Careful not to tell him how incredibly cool his custom dash is - his head is big enough
Seriously - send him a PM - he will respond when his schedule permits. 215s won't rub - can't - unless you lower your car too much as well. But, if you don't lower your car - some combos (215/35/17) might look really silly and there would be other effects (speedometer, gearing, etc.).
It's my understanding that 225/40/17 are likely to rub - this is from Alex at Tirerack. He doesn't recommend them - BUT when we were talking it was in context to my situation and so perhaps doesn't apply with certain combinations of wheels, springs, etc. I wasn't interested in getting that fancy yet.
