Suspension TSW R56 springs - coming soon
BTW...I spoke to TSW a few days ago. They are still about 1-2 months before they release their product. One of the biggest holdbacks is getting a test mule R56 locally. He says there aren't a lot around...yet.
He wouldn't have that problem around the NorCal area as R56's are being sold like hotcakes.

Does anyone know the stock vs. sport suspension spring rates? Are the stock springs and sport suspension springs linear or progressive? I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to place my order, trying to decide on stock vs. sport pkg. Thanks.
use the "search" button dammit!!!.... or better yet, ask the dealer!!!!!!!
Sorry Dad! Ask the dealership, wrong. I'm making the transition from VW to Mini, I just ordered a '08 MCS and VW enthusiasts are definitely more knowledgeable. Mini owners are more into the cute stuff like naming their car. I'm more into PERFORMANCE. Thanks anyway for no help.
Stock springs, both sport and non-sport, are progressive.
If you are looking for performance, you'd probably be better off getting the stock suspension, saving the 500 bones for sport suspension, and putting that money towards aftermarket spring/shocks or coilovers.

ok, getting this thread back to topic!
Are there any updates on these new R56 Springs? Delivery schedule, technical specifications? Pricing?
I will go check the TSW website, but it appears some some items are not making it to the website in an obvious manner.
TSIA.

This is encouraging. But I'm concerned, and have been, that we haven't heard anything directly in this thread from the folks at TSW since 4-03-08 -- in spite of much early "conversation" and questions subsequently from many people obviously eager to buy the product.
Let's keep our fingers crossed, I hope to have them before my new Mini arrives next month. Just like the R53 springs, the R56 will be linear too. They are cold windings, no sagging; a more expensive manufacturing process. The drop in the front and rear will be 1" and 3/4" respectively. Spring rates will be slightly higher than stock, #121 vs. #150 for the fronts and #225 vs. #250 in the rear. Based on TSW's recommendations, I'll be getting Koni yellows and a 19mm sway bar to complete the setup.

Who are you talking with at TSW for the springs? I may have to break down and give them a ring to get on the call me list when these are ready.
I was hoping for a 3/4 and 1/2 inch drop but 1 and 3/4 is pretty close to what I may be able to handle with the right shocks.

Any idea of a ball park price on your springs and konis? Send a PM if you like.
