Bold. I just bought an '08 Civic EX. I should have bought the Si.... I wonder though, what makes you think an Si is so below you? Mine is bone stock and handles surprisingly well. the 197 NA hp in an Si and the stiffer suspension shouldn't have that much trouble (if any at all) keeping up with an MCS...

It all depends on if there is someone behind me who is thick enough to believe he can hang with me as I enter the ramp.

My formula is any speed in a yellow sign is doubled and then minus 10 from that.

Quick funny story: My 2 buddies(ride bikes) and I got pulled over (so the 3 of us) all at once for hitting 105 on the on ramp. we all got off but It was good times..

I'm your huckleberry...I have a 99 Si that'l make your Mini sweat. The difference between the 07/08 Si and the Mini JCW is barely worth mentioning. I would stack the 07/08 Si up against any stock, non JCW, Mini - more so for those minis produced before 05 due to their less than spectacular gearing. If the 07/06 Si has a fault it can be found in the tires; although I love the Exalto PE2s for their outright dry and incredible wet grip, they suffer from poor responsiveness. Fix that and it's a different ball game. Reliability...Honda wins hands down.

The actual differences between the two - or even the GTI - are meaningless in the real world. Perhaps a group of talented drivers might find a difference on a track. And that's been said already.

Hesitate but for a fraction of a second and anyone of these three can win or lose.

I really don't look at the speedometer, I am too busy watching the cars as I pass them (2 lanes) and twice I've had people pull over to the side of the on ramps as they saw me coming...I salute those who showed respect and let me do my thing..

Has anyone seen somebody loose it behind them because they thought they could take the ramp with you? This has not happened to me, but one guy was close to going off.

Last Gen Jetta GLI...but my Mini was on its way to the track...track setup with R compounds. Sneaky? Yes! Made me giggle. Thankfully he got out of the throttle quick enough to avoid the concrete barrier. And it wasn't that I was traveling so fast, it's just that I never lifted going into the turn. Poor fellow...

be careful gang, dropping numbers on NAM about speed above the limit on public roads can earn you a slap on the mouse, you may want to edit them before someone reports you. I got busted in the early days.

Not on a expressway ramp, but I have on a public street. One day, I had this guy in an older model Camaro come up on my passenger side just I am approaching a fairly tight S curve. Seconds later, I hear tires squealing. I look behind me and see him doing a 360. Luckily he slowed ever so slightly before the curve so he didn't take me out with him! Otherwise, he would have had an extremely angry Italian girl trying to pull him out of his car.

I dont slow down going on to exit ramps. On ramps I see as a chance to acclerate as fast as possible. which in the cooper gets me at a good highway speed when I need it

I average just fast enough to have fun, maybe 50% over the yellow sign speed on a ramp I travel frequently.

In the twisties it's slow-in, fast-out, better safe than sorry: just ask my uncle who flipped his Miata on a "fun run" and had to watch a helicopter take my aunt to the hospital with a fractured vertebrae. She has recovered fine, but a lesson was definitely learned.

i was accelerating on a S turn ramp in order to get up to speed to merge with highway traffic at their speed, and i saw the bmw 5-series that had been tailgating me lose it on the ramp trying to continue to stay on my tail
i assume he was a bit lacking in the skill department cuz the car should have been fine....if he was paying attention to driving anyway

Oh yeah. Guy in a Neon with a fart tube, big wing and tribal graphics tried to hang on a nice 180 degree off ramp. He was understeering on the shoulder, hard on the brakes when I looked back.

Accorning to my trip computer, my average speed has been 24.5 MPH. I don't see many exit ramps.
