Squeak from the back!

I am getting a squeak from the back of the car I dont know if its the swaybar or the h&r springs? I only hear it when I am going through bumps or any hard movement on the back. Do you have to get your suspension alight after lowering the car?

I have said to you several times you need to take the car in and get it aligned properly,do you think the car magically goes back into Alignment after you drop the springs, you have also dropped the rear end to install the sway bar,The car needs to be inspected by a professional alignment shop and set up properly, there are plenty in the Houston area, the Woodlands is not exactly out in Neverland. If you are supposedly setting up this car up for speed then think about how the car is supposed to ride and perform.Your questions go on and on and the only way to be sure is take the car in..what about that don't you understand....

An alignment will not fix a noise/squeak or whatever you're hearing. That should be addressed by the dude that lowered the car with the springs. Out of alignment makes the tires wear funny or the car pull to one side. No noise. About $80.

swaybar could be rubbing... it's common with MINI's. people grease the rubber fitting to help with the sound. doubtful it's an alignment issue

I didn't mean the car just needed an alignment. In several of his many posts in many areas on the site he has said he did most of the work himself with several problems .It would be real prudent to check out everything and make sure the car is safe and set up right , everthing is tight and the way it should be,just being safe if he plans to add more mods to the car and drive it like he says he wants to

unslada: Did you ever get the subframe bolt back in the car? In another thread you claimed it didn't line up and you left it out. THAT could CERTAINLY be the issue!

If you plan on putting the bar back in, make sure to wrap it with teflon where it makes contact with the bushings. That'll prevent any squeaks.

Do you use all of the provided grease packet when you first installed it?

I did the teflon wrap and grease and no alignment after installing the Alta rearbar last fall. No sqeaks so far. The bolt holes on the subframes are round, which means no room for misalignment. The car tracks straight, tires are wearing normally, and the handling is very nice. Springs...... I don't know about those.

that wont matter... its the bushings the bar is rotating in that squeak. If purpose built grease lube doesn't solve the problem wrap the bar with teflon tape where the bushings go. That's what I ended up having to do.

Yup... a nifty tip I learned here from the experts... I never would have thought of that! The grease was fine for a few months. I just put the teflon tape on two weeks ago. Time will tell if it holds up...

if you dont want to take it apart, i sprayed my acura's swaybar bushings with CLP. works for about 6 months, the tape is much better though.
