I bet you didn't know

I bet you didn't know that EBC brake rotors, that have been highly recommended for Mini's, are crap. They warped once, twice... ah screw it. I wasted over $600 within two months due to this issue, warranty wouldn't cover it either. Anyone know why they're still in business? I'm switching to the big brake kit with Wilwood in January.

If rotors warp over time, there is a very good, prolly 90% chance, its not the rotors are bad. If you drive on them for 2 miles and they shake, then they are warped. Warpage does not happen over time due to a defective rotor. Its usually either a pad problem, bad caliper, unlubed slides, bad hose, something along those lines.

Did you just throw the pads on and not bed them in? Or did you not wash the protective coating on the rotors off?? Cause a few buddies here are running them and if I wasnt running all Stoptech parts...I would be running EBC's. I used to run their pads in my VW and Mini....

I broke the pads and rotors in as suggested by the manufacturer too... but that's the reason why i'm not buying EBC products again. it's a waste of money.

I had EBC rotors with their Green Stuff pads.

Warping was not a problem until much later, but as they wore, the pads actually tore up the rotors. I would probably not get EBC again.

I changed out to Brembo rotors and Mintex pads, about last February (& roughly 12000 miles). I've been really happy with them. Much better than EBC, in my opinion. I still have little or no dust, but other than the rust the rotors still look about like they did when I first got them, and they stop great; plus they make no noise. The EBC's were squealers even when they were new, and later they made grinding noises. Uggh.

I was not ready for a BBK at the time, or I might have done what you are planning. Lots of good reports on Wilwoods it seems to me, and they are significantly less $$ than Brembo BBKs.

Good luck whichever way you go.

nope....I knew this. I've posted as much multiple times on this forum. I had some on my CRX with EBC pads and they warped right away. I was out a grip of cash....never again will any EBC product be installed on my car. 30 day warranty is laughable.
