Sway Bar Question

MCS with factory sports suspension option is en route. Mach V are bought and will be installed as soon as the car is in hand.

What rear sway bar will come with the car? 18mm?

From the pass post I have read it sounds like a 19mm will give better handling. 22mm sounds like it may be over kill. No plans to track the car. TIA

Diameter of these bars are generally measured in millimeters... 22" would definitely be overkill.

The rear sway in cars with the factory sport suspension is 18mm in diameter.

tazio... thanks, I fixed that!

Scott48... Thanks.

So have those that upgraded from the 18mm OEM bar to a 19mm or 22mm bar noticed a notable difference? TIA

I am curious also if the sport suspension's 18mm bars have the same arm length as the stock 17 mm bars. I mean 1 mm could make a difference but if the arms are shorter as well, the difference will be even greater. Is MINI not telling the buyers about the arm length because people don't care/understand the significance or is 1 mm the only difference? Does anyone know? I will measure my stock 17mm bar's arm length measured from the floor to the tip while holding it on its spine on the floor and the tips pointing up vertically. Someone with 18 mm bar out can do the same and we can compare the results.

I measured it and it is 8" to the tip and 7.25" to the center of the hole for 17mm stock rear bar.
