Lowering=rubbing ..question?

ive got an 02 cooper non s and im looking to get a little lower stance.
ive got some stock s lites and im running 205/50-17s on them and was wondering if i went with H&R springs or some Hsports would they rub?

im looking into getting some new wheels and tires sooner or later just wanted some input.

205/45-17 tires are stock and are 24.4" tire diameter
205/50-17 tires are tall at 25.1" tire diameter

Anytime you run tires that are taller than stock you have much less clearance and lowering springs will have to be minimal or stock height to work at all.

205/45-16 is much smaller than stock height at 23.2" tire diameter.
A more stock height would be 205/50-16.

H-sport springs lower the MINI about 1" front and rear. I think you would be rubbing alot with your current tires if you lowered your suspension.

205/50-17 are not a recommended size for the MINI but will fit with stock suspension. You'll also get a little speedo and odometer error due to the tire being taller than stock.

I'm using Alta springs (about an 1" lower) with 245x45x17 and love it. Stance, ride quality and handling = good setup!
