BTW, how is the ride quality, rougher? smoother? less lean/roll?
I think I can feel a little bit more road imperfections, but it may all be in my head. It's nice and smooth. The things I notice are that it doesn't lean in corners now and if I encounter a bump mid corner, the car no longer skips off the bump. With the stock setup, if I hit a bump mid corner, the car felt like it skipped off the bump. I have about 150 miles of seat time so far and I'm very pleased.

I also like that I can go wild with the lowering if I want to. I have all of the threads up front and 16 in the rear. I could tuck tire with these coilovers if I wanted to. And they were fairly cheap to boot. This setup, from The Suspension Source, was under $1K shipped. I was originally going to go with NM springs and Koni's but that setup was about $1150 + shipping from WMW. I did get my H-Sport rear control arms from Way though :D

LOL. I couldn't get in my driveway with that much drop. I've had cars lowered that much before and they were a pain the rear to drive around here. We have quite a few speed tables in town and I HATED having to go at an angle to get over them.

The only thing you're scraping on the MINI is the giant hang-down plastic lip on the bumper. Remove it and you'll never scrape.

I did remove it I'm going to ride around with it as it is for a while. I may go lower if I get a new set of wheels

went to the beach today, found this MINI, had to take this comparison shot. sorry for the bad quality, its my phone's camera. im pretty sure that the top of my roof rack is just shy of being the same height as the roof on the stock MINI.

..just last week, I finally got a bit lower...with NM springs.

..happy to have closed some of the wheel gap, but now I keep daydreamin' about how nice it'd be to have gotten coilovers...and the ability to go lower. .....one day.

..had to save a bit of $ with just springs for now, ..want to get new wheels soon.

Honestly, I don't envy myself either! These stock pads dish out dust like nobody's business. I'm trying to get Akebono pads & hopefully they will improve the situation.

I always thought that brake dust on silver wheels are less obvious. Are yours polished chrome silver? Matte silver should be fine right? As long as you don't touch them & leave fingerprints.

I must be missing something since tons of people are doing this lately. How the hell do you drive around like that? Or are you on bags? So many VWs in this area just drop their ebay coilovers as low as they can go and absolutely ruin their fenders.
