LOPSIDED MINI!!!HELP!!

Hey there,

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but here goes:

I recently had the M7 springs installed on my 06 Cooper (on stock shocks/struts) and have been driving on them for about 4 days. The car handles like a dream and I'm very happy so far. The problem is that my rear right wheel well has more of a gap than the rear left does. The fronts are sitting at the same level and look great but the rear right looks a bit high (I can fit 1 finger in the gap) and the rear left looks like it's sagging a bit (no gap at all). I'm not sure which one is the way it's supposed to be and which one is not.

I spoke to Peter at M7 and he has been extremely helpful so far and has offered to exchange the springs but I wanted to check with all of you before I did that.

Has anyone else experienced this problem before? I have heard of such explanations as the frame being geometrically off (but you wouldn't notice unless you lowered), and weight distribution (engine weight sits on the drivers side), but I'm really not sure what to do.

If anyone can shed some light on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

For interest sake I'm on 18"s with a 45 offset on 215/40/18's

Thanks in advance

Just my first thought... Are the springs seated properly in the strut?

Not sure as I didn't do the install. Is there a way I could check?

The rears are very easy to remove. I can do the rear in 15 mins. Remove the rear and check to make sure all the bushings and the springs are seated right.

You need to measure from the center of the wheel to the top of the wheel opening. Compare both sides. If they're not the same, take it back to whoever did the install.

From memory, there are 4 bolts/nuts in total that need removing (besides wheel nuts)... but yeah, check seating and bushing. make sure the strut is oriented (cambered in the correct way) too, i think there is a subtle difference on the top bushing.

Good luck!! Hopefully it isn't a defective spring
