Try wrapping it with plumbers teflon tape before inserting it through the car. Once it's in place, it's almost impossible to wrap well. You might even try putting the bushings on first too, but it might be a little tight getting them through the opening.

so the 19 mm H&R bar sounds like the way to go, Ive never done any suspension work and it sounds like if i want to eventually lower the car, id have to get the adjustable endlinks? also, this will be ok on the non sport suspension on the r56 S correct?

one last question... will the 19mm really be a noticeable difference? i dont want to have to sell it and buy a thicker bar because it only marginally increased the handling characteristics.

Dude, I have Alta 19mm bar. I am assuming the hole positions are similar for both brands. Mine is on the middle setting and it got rid of all the understeering. I am afraid the rear end might swing out if I put it all the way to the stiffiest setting but then there are people using 22mm bars at the stiffiest setting. For my driving style, I can appreciate the 19 mm bar in the middle setting plenty. Brake and turn.
When I first got the car and took the corners the front tires squealed a lot even with proper weight transition to the front before turning. But after getting the 19mm bar, the front tires some times go "chirp... chirp" and the car just turns. No more of the squealing pig noise is heard.
Mine doesn't have sport suspension.

Why do you think you need adjustable endlinks? They would make minimal difference in the torsion of the bar. If you're lowering the car, you might consider adjustable control arms to bring camber back toward desired specs.

I also have the Alta 19mm bar set on the middle setting. That yields just under 50% more stiffness than the stock bar. The tightest setting is about 80% stiffer, IIRC. I live in PA, and on a snowy road too much swaybar is probably a recipe for disaster.

I know the Alta bar has 3 positions for adjustment, and if I'm not mistaken, the H&R I saw only had two choices.

So I think I'm gonna go with the H&R how would I determine which setting is which? Obivously the one closest to the bar is the stiffest. Would the first one be equal to alta and h-sports middle hole?
