Powerflex Control Arm Bushing Feedback
NVH experience
Dielectric- I bought (from WMW) and installed the PF FCAB bushings and lower motor mount bushings a couple months ago. When I bought them, Way advised me to only install the larger yellow inserts in the lower mount to minimize NVH. I did not listen. I figured I paid for two bushings I'm going to install two bushings!! After the install I had some significant NVH in the cabin. There was some break in and after a month there was much less NVH. However, the wife still complained, so I put the smaller stock bushing back in the lower mount. Much better. Wish I had gone this route in the first place.
has anyone replaced the front lower control arm rear bushings (brake reaction bushings) themselves ? and is the special tool to pull the control arms out of the old bushings really necessary ? i already have the special tool to press out the old bushings from the brackets without removing the brackets from the chassis... and without dropping the subframe, which i do not want to do.
thanks in advance for any info that may help,

I have been driving R53 minis for 10 years now.
2003 MCS installed Way prepressed LCA PF bushings at 130K car has 163K now, great improvement. My son has this car now and has been driving hard since it had 50K.
2005 MCS installed Way prepressed LCA PF bushings at 80K never had a problem or sqeek. Totaled the car at 146K collision with a wild hog.
2006 MCS installed Way prepressed LCA PF bushings at 67K car has 70k now and zero problems with the bushings on any of these cars.
I believe that this is a must install once your stock ones go bad. I can't recommend these strongly enough.

300 miles, 106k on the car, dramatic improvement over the stockers that held in for 8 years, hard to believe. The steering response is awesome, more direct and better feel. The whole car seems more solid. I wish mini would contract with power flex to put them in all MINI's from the factory.
Installed the PF bushings into our 2010 fJCW at probably around 10k miles. Car has 35k miles on it now. The bushings are awesome and are a great mod. When we pulled the subframe for the differential install I noticed the bushing were cracking on both sides. It doesn't seem to have affected the function of the bushing but I'm sure it'll get worse. Not sure if it was an installation problem (dealer did it since they were in there for warranty work) or what. I do know that Powerflex has an excellent warranty (just had a set of PF bushings warrantied on the STI). Eventually when I get around to it I'll send some pictures to PF and have them send me some new bushing that I can put in. Although I've been eyeing the SuperPro bushings...
The real issue for us is that you just don't know the original bushings are worn out till you notice that the front tires are down to the cord. But when the new bushings go in, its like every nut and bolt in the entire car has been retightened.
Great product.
Well, it is the number one replacement ---- does anybody actually use anything else?

2002 MCS
Installed last April and could not be happier. Great improvement in steering sensitivity and handling. After 10,000 miles as a daily driver in brutal highway and city traffic no issues whatsoever.

I've got a local member that has a new set of PF LCAB's for sale, but it doesn't come with the grease. Can anyone tell me what the grease is and if it's special, where I can get more?
Is there a picture of how the reinforcement washers (Powerflex Control Arm Bushing Reinforcement Kit) go in? What I want to know is whether I need to pull the control arm off completely to tap it, or do they go onto the bracket instead? Pulling apart the control arms is kinda intimidating... whereas the brackets are already out and ready to be drilled/tapped.
@Dielectric or @Way
