I'm terrible with posting on forums. I also don't have any pics at the moment.

It's been a learning experince for sure, going from rwd back to fwd. Also from r-comps back to street tires. I haven't had all too many chances to get out there since the season is just about to get started.

Here is what I've done to the car so far.

Looks like I am stuck with runing a set of 225/16 rs3s that I am getting from a friend. I was going to run 15s on my 949 wheels, but rs3s are sold out everywhere. I may try a pair of 245/35/17 r1rs in the front later on and see how that goes. I'll keep everyone posted.

 

I bought my Mini cooper S pretty much set up as STX and have always wanted to do autocross/solo. So I finally said now or never and signed up for the novice driving school (alongside test& tune) on April 7th at the meadowlands NJ. Anyone else going to be there to learn/ teach/ test?

 

We've our opening event on April 7th at Devens, so I won't be down your way.

NER is hosting the Divisionals this year, so perhaps we can have a gathering of Minis up here at Moore Airfield in Ayer, MA later on this summer!

Do post back and say how all that plays out, will you? Particularly the Giken should make quite a difference I'd guess.

It's a bloody nuisance Hankook not making enough 225/45-15 RS3! There was a nationwide shortage last spring too. I can't figure out how they win by not meeting demand.

I'm being driven back to the Toyo R1R, which is a bit better for the first few events (think cold, rain) but not so good when the heat of summer returns...

Nice to see folks posting in this forum - I'm looking forward to hearing some stories this year..

Here are a couple runs I from earlier today. I decided to skip out on the rs3s and went with the Dunlops. So far, I am liking them. I also decided to go to 17s to use 235s up front. I also picked up Terrett 23.8 RSB to help with the traction. the OS Giken on its own didn't cut it.

Here was my fastest run of the day. I am still trying to work on getting smoother. I think i've developed some habits running in a rwd car with r-comps prior. I am just too aggressive.

Man, the double sided tape on those membership cards is sticky! Was not expecting to have to use goo-gone today! In other news, Falken azensis arriving tomorrow, woohoo!

 

I run -2.5 front, and -1.0 rear.
