strange problem. Key chime continuously chiming
This morning when I got into my MCS to go to work, I did my usual routine...
1: Put key in ignition but didn't push it in.
2: With the door still open, I buckled the seat belt. This way it doesn't hit the door panel. Then close the door
3: Push the key in, step on the clutch and hit the start button.
The "key in ignition" chime kept going off even with the door shut. I turned the car off, removed the key (door still shut, yes it was shut tight) and it continued chiming. I re-started the car and it kept chiming! I went ahead and drove to work. When I got there and turned the car off, it continued chiming. I went to my office, did a little paperwork and came out to check on it and it had stopped. Now everything operates as it's supposed to. I had set an appointment for Monday with the dealer but called back and cancelled it. I think I remember reading a thread here about a similar problem and the culprit was moisture on the door switch/switches but now I can't find it.
Mitigating factor(s):
1: The wood trim on the dash was damp this morning. I think it was just condensation because the car was closed up tight.
2: Dew covered the entire car this morning.
Have any of you experienced this or heard of it? What was the fix?

Does your car have a sun roof?
There have been reports on here of the sun roof drains malfunctioning and allowing water to run down the inside of the car near the kick panels under the dash as I recall. I think there is a electrical box on the right side. Might want to check to see if there is moisture under that panel and in that area.
I cannot think of a reason why there should be moisture inside your car unless you left the windows down all night.
