Xenon Headlamp Issue

Apparently my driver's side headlamp assembly came unmoored sometime late last week. What I mean by that is the light assembly is loose inside the housing, as if it became unbolted or something. (Forgive me, but I don't really know how to explain it any other way.) The upshot is that the light still works, as does the auto leveling function, but the light is aimed directly at the road about 3 1/2 feet in front of the car.

My question is this: can I take apart the headlamp assembly so that I can fix it, or is this something that I need to take in for service? Has anyone ever had the (exciting) opportunity to do something like this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

spinguru - you're much more likely to get a good answer from the entire NAM community than just DCMMers, so I'm moving this to the 1st Generation Stock Problems/Issues.

Good luck on getting it solved - especially without a dealer visit... but at least it's under warranty!

Thanks, Edge. The only reason I started with DCMM was I was hoping (praying) that someone local had some sort of experience and would be willing to walk me through it!

I'm cool with taking it global, though.

I've had a similar issue. My fix was to pop the bulb carrier back in place. You can pull the cover on the back of the light (where you would replace the high beams) and gently push the carrier forward. Be very careful though as the insides of the light are plastic and can break.

Thanks, Matt. I'll see if I can get it to sit properly using your method.
