stupid hood will not pop on my 02MCS.

I think its the latch inside the car, but cant figure it out

The latch had to be pulled apart last summer, and has never been 'firm' since. So im pretty sure its the inner latch.

Question is, which of the two wires are responsible for pulling the latch under the hood?

 

Cables are sticking - likely rusted... need replacement. I have seen this before. Only way to release is to remove wheels & liners and manually release. Unfortunate poor seal on cheapo cables... Newer road and mountain bicycle cables have more sophisticated seals than our MINI's do.
