Under Dash Facia

How to I remove the facia panel under the drivers side of the dash?

Hard for me to see under there.

Gromit - Are you talking about the knee bolster under the steering wheel? If so that is a pull straight down (sharply and rather hard). If this is what you are talking about then this would be the same piece removed for the euro parcel shelf.

Flat head screw driver there are two tabs one on each side, smooth steady pressure downward at each and a little wiggling to get it off after you drop it (once you see the tabs its self explainitory but took a little bending to get it out).

... actually I replaced mine with the parcel shelf -excellent mod! I had my aux input mounted there and that's where my Sirius unit lives.

It does just pull down and then you snap it loose from the plastic hinges.

The Outmotoring site still had parcel shelf install instructions (& bolster removal) last time I looked.

It does eventually come out, but it'll cost you 2 knuckles and an ounce of blood - simply because it tends to pop lose when you least expect it.

The Euro parcel shelf is by far one of the most useful interior mods, fer sure.

Thanks. Not talking about the parcel shelf at all though. Don't want or need one of those.

The underdash facia, is what the under dash panel is called in the UK. No idea what it might have to do with knees. What I'm talking about is UNDER the dash.

Do you have a photo or link to an image of it on RealOEM.com?

Nice website. I can't find a diagram in there, they don't include the 2006 models. I'll take a pic later to up load.

Only change from the 05 to the 06 was the paint choices and the logo for the passenger airbag shutoff. They slowly add build dates over time so soon enough it'll be up. I'm having a hard time thinking of what it is now, maybe if I go out and take a look I might have some better results.

The "knee bolster" is what people call item #19 on this page: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...72&hg=51&fg=30
