Has anyone used one on their MINI? They are supposed to catch small pieces of metal that may be in the engine. Anyone use one?

90% of new GM vehicles use plugs with a magnetic tip. They are great and really do catch large amounts of metal particles. You could make your own magnetic drain plug by finding a dougnut type magnet that can be slipped between the plug and the drain pan.

Does this mean that MINI does not use a magnetic drain plug? Are there any on the market that fit the MINI?

I don't know for sure but I have never seen a BMW that uses a magnetic plug so probably not.
