I get that but it is just a streak on the drivers side only near the front of the glass. Haven't a clue why. It does wipe right off for me with some glass cleaner like Prima Clarity.

I use to get that, but it has stopped. I think read somewhere here in the forums that is was extra oil and greese on the window rails.

There is a post somewhere in here about taking the door panels off and greesing the rails and motor. It also addresses the issue of streaking. I think I found it under squeeky windows. I got lucky and mine went away with a lot of cleaning. But now I figure I need to greese the rails.

Oh, and GO COLTS

I've been a Colts fan since Johnny U when they were the real Colts, Baltimore that is! I even had a Colts #19 jersey and helmet when I was a kid - and I lived in Oregon at the time.

Go Colts!

Sorry, now back to dirty windows.

My Mini is still doing the window streak thing after 2 years. After awhile that line got to where it would not come off the inside of the window 100% no matter what I did. Then I discovered Clarity so at least I can get the streak off again

I too get a streak right near the very front of the window, its definitely some sort of grease from inside. Annoying for sure.

I'll even this Colts party out. Go Bears!!

As bamatt said, try some Prima Clarity from DP. Here's a link for you: Clarity. Go ahead and get the bundle (Clarity + glass towel) and if you order soon you get a free Monster Fluffy microfiber towel to boot!

Go Bears!

I get the same thing very often but not always, seems more pronounced when wet and it seems to wipe off without too much difficulty. It was the streaks on the inside that confused me. otherwise I would have written it off to strange dirt buildup. I have a cabrio and water tends to drain down the front windows near the mirrors and having dirt buildup there make some sense.

My idea that I haven't tried is to tape a paper towel to the window and move the window up and down. Afraid I'll end up with either tape or paper towel stuck inside the door. Don't like fixes to lead to other problems. Maybe one of those blue shop towels and duct tape would be sturdy enough.

HERBIE,
I would prefer the approach of never shutting the window Unfortunately at 7 degrees this morning, I think that can wait a few months

Ok did the paper shop towel thing. Taped it on the window, soaked it with window cleaner. Ran the window up and down like I was scrubbing it. So far after cleaning have only put the window up and down about 6 times. No streaking. We'll see how this works in the long run.

I've had the same problem on mine since last summer; only on the driver's side, and basically only after a rain storm or after I wash it.

I took the car to my dealer, and my SA said he thought it was normal, even though I pointed out to him that it only started doing it a few months ago and only on the driver's side, but he had the tech adjust the angle of the window when opened / closed, but sadly to no avail.

Surely, this can't be normal??!!

you are not alone. Mine have done this since day one on both windows, dealer no help, tint shop no help. Then in the winter salt from outside gets on the leading edge inside and turns the lines white, then drys to powder. Real Mess. Once/If it ever gets back to 40 around here I'm going to remove the door panel and vacuum the dust/salt out of door and clean it real good, let it dry then put it back together and hope for the best.

See mine is about a 6" vert stripe on the inside right where you look through to the door mirror. Both sides. It's not the whole glass. That's why I figured it was some kind of roller or something just below the felt.
