Driver door won't open!!!

I have an 02 Mini Cooper S with many mods and has always ran flawlessly, except for this door problem. It opens sometimes, but then other times it just won't open. I had it looked at by a local shop and they said that it is the computer that won't allow the door to open?? I'm thinking it's the cable, but I have no idea. Anyone else know anything about this???

I'm guessing that this started with he recent cold weather/rain/snow - right?

When you use the remote to unlock the door - does the lock motor operate and the button pops up?

Or is the problem with opening the door with the door handle, after the button pops up?

Well it has been going on for maybe a few months now...it hasn't really been driven lately, just garaged. But I would say that it started the end of summer, so I don't think it is a weather related problem.

When I use the remote to unlock or lock the door, the lock itself goes up and down. However I have noticed that sometimes when the door is working, and I do anything with the locks, then it won't open anymore. It's very spontaneous, sometimes the door opens, sometimes it doesn't. Haha thanks for the help though, but I think its a weird problem.

I heard somewhere that if you have the Valet key on the same ring as your regular key it'll mess with the locks

just yesterday I started having a similar problem. I can no longer open my driver side door from the outside. The door seems unlock as usual (the button pops up and everything). But when I pull on the handle the window doest go down any and the door wont open and as was pointed out it is pretty cold outside. The weird thing is the door works flawlessly from inside.
As my warranty is up Im not sure who I should take it to. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

Adjust the latch catch that is attached to the door jam. 2 torque screws loosen and slide towards the outside of car just alittle than retigten
