Going in for first service soon, any tips?

Well I have just about 7,000 Miles on my 2006 MCS and have 3/4000 miles left until the oil change service is gone.

When is the earliest I can get my first checkup? (I also tripped my airbag sensors, so I need to get that reset also, don't really feel like driving the mini without airbags :D)

When I go to get my first checkup, is there anything I should say to the dealership to make sure they look at certain thing or change it? Because I have heard/read that they only have to do certain things unless you tell them about others then they have to do it. If this is true, is there something else I should tell them specifically?

Also I installed an amp and sub connecting to the Stock HU and I also have a carPC hooked to the stock HU as well. For power they both go straight to the battery. So this shouldn't affect my warrenty since it isn't really connected to any MINI computer services. Or would they care? (My closest dealership is Mini Motorwerks in MN next to Minneapolis, MN off of I-35)

Any insight would be great, Thanks!

Arty

if the aftermarket items were wired properlly then you should not have a problem. how did you route the wires because i had a customer who had a water leak caused by the wires routed thru the firewall and it damaged the whole fuse box.

other than that it is a brand new car so you won't need much.

Since I have an S, the battery is in the boot, so the wires all stay inside the car. They run down the center console and under the rear seats. The only place that went outside is my gps antenna, and I mounted that inside the OEM antenna. So I only unscrewed the antenna and screwed it back together.

So the only existing wires that were touched were the Head Unit wires and I connected a wire to the battery.

Thanks for the info :D

If you go for an early checkup, you will pay for it. You cannot get a free service until the mileage counter is near zero.

If you have had the car for a year, you CAN get a free oil change but they will not do anything else.
