Underhood noise
Underhood noise
While driving, say coasting down a slight hill, when I push the clutch in and leave the car in gear, there is an unlubed-like metal rattling sound coming from the engine. It stops when I take it out of gear and coast in neutral.
I'm figuring this has happened before to someone else. Any ideas?
Thanks

It certainly could be the throw-out or release bearing, but there have been some issues with the dual-mass flywheel which transmits excessive engine vibration to the transmission - I believe there is an improved part to replace ones that are faulty.
Thanks guys, I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take it in. Out of warranty...ouch....I'm no mechanic.
PS - Basil is my hero! LMAO when he was whipping his mini because it wouldn't start.
