Vibration @ certain rpm

Well I figured i'd post this up eventually.

My car has a rumble through the car whenever the rpms pass between 2200-2400. It doesn't matter if the car is shifting or going up or down the rpm range. But it is rather annoying. It has been there for problay 5k miles now.
The car has always had some vibrations and some added when the engine was replaced @ 12k miles. I also figured it was due to the supercharger starting to kick in. My local mechanic tells me its from the torque converter and there is nothing he can do about it.

Any ideas? My car is almost to 22k miles.

This TSB made me want to post this. But now I feel like MINI is trying not to touch this issue.

What sort of "rumble?" Mine has always had a bit more vibration in that rpm range, especially when accelerating.

Hard to say. Like it almost feels like the added rumble you get from an exhaust but not so pronounced.

My 02 MCS resonates at about 2100-2200 RPM. It's especially irritating at 50 MPH (indicated) in 6th gear. I'm hoping that a different exhaust system will correct the problem. Until my stock exhaust system dies, I plan to tolerate this misbehavior. I've learned to select a different gear when the resonance is unbearable. Thankfully, I have a manual transmission.
