CV Joint Question
i don't know a specific check. they're usually very noisy (noticably so ) . sometimes turning the wheel will increase the clicking kinda crunching noise. best done at slow (5 mph) speeds. the noise is in direct proportion to speed. like if you slow way down to a walk you'll get a crunch ....crunch...crunch . and itll speed up with you as you do .
Also, sometimes if you put the car in reverse and back up while turning, you'll get a harsh grinding sound. Basically imitate backing out of a parking space.
Check your boots also. You have to really check as sometimes the boots will have a tear that is not quite so noticeable. A torn boot can indicate that you have a bad CV joint.

Inspect the boots for any tears or holes, if there is, the boots must be replaced immediately. Clean off as much of the old grease as you can before packing in the new grease. Give the axles a really good shake and feel if there's any play (there shouldn't be).
