Hope someone out there can help me. My ride is a 04 CVT Cooper and I have been getting the Engine Pinking sound. Brought it back to the MINI dealer, and they diagnosed it as gearbox and flywheel problem. They replaced both parts, but the pinking sound is still there.

I am on stock ECU, and using Octane 98.

Any idea what else would cause the engine to pink?

take it to an auto zone for a free obd check. maybe some codes are still in there if the dealer didn't clear um. then get back to us with the codes. someones bound to help.

 

Do they have Auto Zone in "Far East Asia"?

thanks guys. no, we don't have the same Auto Zone here, but the dealer told me all the codes have been cleared.

but i can try bringing to other shops to carry out the obd test.
