I have owned my MCS for about 4 weeks now and I'm getting ready for a 1000 mile trip to Arizona. I want to change the oil but not sure of the weight I should use. In my supercharged Benz I use 0-30 Mobil. Would it be ok to use a "0" weight in the mini with mods?

Yes the 0-30 will work just fine.
Mini does recomend the 5W30 Mobil 1,

Funny....My MINI says it prefers Castrol under the Bonet. You can only prefer one or the other unless the preference has changed over the years.

I use Castrol Syntec in everything I own that requires oil...never any issues.

yeh, mine also says Castrol-only or something.

but i run Mobil1 5W30 silver cap. i change it once a year.
